Many complain about chickens wasting feed, but why don't I see it?

I hang my feeder about chest level inside the coop and use crumbles. I have virtually no waste at all.

I put my feeder on 2 cinder blocks for the first time yesterday. No food was on the ground!!! I am going to figure out how and where I can hang it in the coop.
