Ok Folks.... question: A. Is this a Maran egg? B. If it is, why is it so light? How can I get her to lay darker eggs? Or C. Is this from my Delaware? What do you all think?

On a note: I am pretty sure the BCM layed this egg. I caught her screaming at the top of her lungs because she couldn't find the rest of the flock. I think she was in the box and the 7 others disappeared on her, but who knows. Advice please!!

There are some BCM's out there who are indeed light layers. . . Before asking for photos of the eggs, I once almost fell into the trap of buying a bunch of very light laying Black Coppers. . . It happens.

But, who knows. . . Just because your Marans is singing, doesn't mean she laid it.

I bet it came from your Delaware, I have some girls that will sing the egg song when another hen lays an egg. A couple of my girls don't sing at all some will join in when another sings. I even have a Rooster that gets in on the singing action.
