Maran Hen

I recently got my first flock of hens, 2 marans, 2 light Sussex, 2 rhode island reds and 1 americauna....I have no doubt about the black copper maran hen, but does anyone have any idea of the brown maran hen? She is the most prolific layer of dark brown eggs and the two marans are the most inquisitive hens ever. I love all my hens!

I've never seen that color before. I thought maybe it would be a Golden Marans, but the color looks a bit partridge to me. Congrats on a prolific layer of dk brown eggs!

Thanks for all the input! The Golden Salmon crossed my mind as well as the Black tailed buff.....regardless she is awesome, they all are. It was hard to get pics as they were all crowding around. I am totally chicken crazy now... Who knew they would be so entertaining@

Is she a buff Sussex? I got that hybrid when I crossed my black copper Marans rooster with my speckled Sussex.
