Maran Maran???

I started my flock with two Marans. Or so I thought I did. Lady bird is a Blue Copper Marans and Abigail is supposed to be a Black Copper Marans, however she is showing no copper collar and is going on 9 weeks old. She does have the feathered feet though. Any thoughts????

That's quite typical in the BCMs. She may start to get some in at around 3-4 months old, or she may never get it. None the less, genetically, if she came from Black or Blue Coppers, she is still a black copper, and not a pure black. Sometimes, and I had one hen like this here, they don't show any copper at all until after their first adult molt, at about a year.
