Maran or ameraucana

Hate to tell you but a Favaucana is not a true breed. It's an Ameraucana crossed with a Faverolles. That makes it a cross that carries a blue egg gene so it's an Easter Egger. It will not breed true. The description on My Pet Chicken makes it seem like a breed but it isn't, and it's not recognized by the American Poultry Assoc. Sorry, hope you didn't buy it thinking it was a true breed and showable or that it would pass it's traits 100% to it's offspring.

No I knew it was a created breed but technically ur right it an EE LOL. I just thought that would be interesting ..I currently have 89 chickens 78 are babies and so many different breeds, just love all of them ..not breeding mutts tho
 
Lol. Seriously that Fav./Ameraucana cross makes a super nice looking bird. The roosters are gorgeous and the hens are to die for!

I was curious so I ordered her ..I thought she was the doa but I looked back and it was my blue copper maran ( feathered legs not sure how I missed that). I was looking for 5 toes too but I read now that not all have them ..can't wait to watch her grow :yiipchick
