Maran peeps?

On Tuesday, I bought a Maran hen with 4 chicks at an auction. Stop laughing! Some people do such things. Beautiful black hen with coppery/golden feathers over her head and around her neck. I believe she is a Maran of some flavor. She has one peep who really looks like her, while the other three are yellow with some brown spotting on their wings. Now,I suppose those chicks may well not even be hers. How can I find out what kind of chick they might be? They are basic fluffy yellow with brown mottled stripes on their wings. Just wondering and impatient.

Quote: The lighter ones could be Wheaten Marans. Sometimes they hatch out from Black Copper Marans. Some years ago, the BCM were crossed with WM. So sometimes this still happens.
