Chicks that do not have heavy feather leg like marans. I just want to know if you breed two feather leg chickens together is the anyway to get a chick with no feather on it legs. Is feather legs a dominate gene. If you breed one with and one without feather leg do you get both some with and some without.

I can't give a definative answer but I have a wade jeane line black copper roo from a dark egg and heavily feathered legs that I crossed with a black maran hen from unknown origins laying a lighter egg without feathered legs. The 4 resulting chicks all had feathered legs, two heavily feathered and two lightly feathered. I don't know, go figure. Now I am waiting to see if they turn out black or black copper and whether they lay dark eggs.

from what I have read, feather legs is dominant. If you bred a feather leg to another bird and got clean legs, the feather leg only has a single copy of the feather leg gene. If it inherited feather leg genes from both parents, all of its offspring will be feather legged. If you cross those, you will get mixed results.
