Is this a black copper Maran or a Wheaton?

That's a black copper marans. There is a lot of red on the chest though so probably a poorer quality one.

Do you have a better pic of the whole wing? The only way to tell apart wheaten and black copper marans is the wing. The bottom part of the wing should be black if it's a black copper marans, and orange/brown if it's a wheaten.

He along with some other chickens were abandoned by my neighbor and I took them in. Someone is wanting to buy a Wheaton. And that's what I thought he was.

Do you have a better pic of the whole wing? The only way to tell apart wheaten and black copper marans is the wing. The bottom part of the wing should be black if it's a black copper marans, and orange/brown if it's a wheaten.

This is the best I could get. He's quite the runner.
