This 5 week old chick was hatched from a Cuckoo Marans egg. Papa/ Rooster would have been either a gold laced wyandotte or a black orpington. I'm almost certain he is a roo because his comb is so bright. Is he a he? Is he an orp mix or a wyandotte mix?

No, no chance of a Dominique. I got some fertile eggs from a farm where they had cuckoo maran, ameraucana, and blue orp females. The roosters were the gold wyandotte and a black orpington. So I guess HE is a CUCKOO MANDOTTE. LOL
He is being raised by a black langshan hen and is a bit skittish. I hope he will be friendly and not an aggressive rooster.

I only had two eggs hatch. The other egg was blue. I had 3 blue egg under the hen, one from my flock and two from the farm where I got fertile eggs. The eggs were marked with pencil but the markings had worn off by hatching time. I have a splash Ameraucana and had lost my rooster two weeks prior to placing the eggs. My rooster was a Salmon Favorell.
So possibilities for this chick are : Splash Ameraucana mom or blue Ameraucana mom
Papa rooster either (1) Salmon Favorelle (2) black Orpington (3) Gold laced Wyandotte

Black Orpington is the dad. The mother could be either one of the hens, based on the baby’s coloration. (It’s blue, which requires one splash gene and one black gene. Your blue hen has this make-up so she could have 50% blue chicks and 50% black chicks by that rooster, and the splash hen has 2 of the splash genes, meaning that 100% of her chicks will be blue by that rooster)
Hope this makes sense!!
