Ive gotten some wheaton and blue wheaton marans. Ive gotten a few from here, and a few from there. So it seems everyone wants to know what lines your marans are from. When do they turn into your own lines? By next year Ill have babies that are second generation from what I originally got, and there will just be no way to be able to tell from which I got which. Im just choosing the best that Ive been hatching, and will go on from there.

So when it is "your" line?

I've been puzzling over the meaning of BST. The oly meaning I know for BST is British Summer Time (daylight savings in UK) & I'm pretty sure you don't mean that BST.

As far as lines go. It seems odd because everybody can trace their various birds back to someone else at some point. I suppose they become your line when you've bred birds from more than one line & made decisions about which birds to keep & which birds to cull etc. & bred for a few generations so they are uniquely yours.
