Marans is loosing feathers and patches of skin exposed.

My Marans is loosing her feathers and has large red skin patches here and there. She doesn’t seem to notice and the other chooks are not pecking her. What could it be and will the feathers grow back? It’s been four weeks and the situation is not getting better.

What could it be and will the feathers grow back?

Feather loss boils down to molting, broody, parasites, or pecking order, nutrition, & over mating.

Red skin usually means parasites..

What is her age? Where are the patches located? Got pics? Are you located in the US?

Some feathers may not grow back in until molt. But the red skin should resolve quickly once addressed!
