Marans Madness March Hatch Along.....

This is my first hatch and the humidity issue has also confused me. The first week the humidity was 20-25%...then after reading more of these posts, I upped it to 35 -45%. I think when I go into lockdown, I will also run at 65%. I also purchased my eggs on ebay so I hope mine hatch too! Congratulations on the sweet chicks...and good luck on the rest!

If I'm too stubborn to candle, then I use my sniffer... Just do a quick run over... you'd know if theres a bad one in the bunch.

I've only had the misfortune of smelling this once and, I tell ya whut, that was the most putrid thing I've ever smelled. I threw up a little in my mouth.

I run my bators at 35%-40% humidity from day 1 thru day 18 then up it to around 60%. I am very happy with the hatch results.

WAAAAA!!!!

I had 6 BCM's in the bator but had to remove them at day 10 because 3 were clear and 3 were quitters......

Now I am going to have to covet all of your gorgeous eggs and live vicariously through all of you
