Marans Madness March Hatch Along.....

My broody was cooing, clucking and talking up a storm last night to her eggs, she would look down toward her eggs and just talk talk talk....Does this mean that she knows something we don't?

Also lots of chirping in the incubator this morning....

I knew I had babies in my pen when the clucking was deafening....however it was two new broodies fighting over the babies.... Wow you want to talk about "chickfight" It was a sight.... those mamas get rowdy!!! I have 20 new babies in my brooder.... 6 are Blrw and the rest marans...(3 blue).....I have two BC babies with one broodie now.

My hatch is done, I set 10 wheaten marans eggs and got 7 chicks.
The last 3 eggs I opened and were quitters, they were too dark to see when I candled.
I'm very happy with my first hatch for the year.
I'll post some pictures asap. going to take some now.
