I got up to 1 CM out , 1 Wheaton Maran out.

1 Welsummer or CM zipping, 1CM pip.
Just need 6 More pips on the Wheatons, 2 CM, 1 EE.

Come on chicks!!!!

Congrats Soaring Chicks!!!!!!!!!!

No news on the broody yet as of last night at 1130, but I wasn't going to bother her since it's so close. I'm a big ol' scaredy chicken to go out now and check on her while it's still dark but boy howdy when it is light out I'm running to look!

In the hatcher we have 3 blue coppers and 1 black copper. 3 others have pipped and I haven't seen anything in the other eggs but I did see some of them rocking.

Will post pics when they dry out.

Still have 3 BCM eggs in the bator for a BYC friend due on the 31st. All looked as good as could be expected looking into Marans eggs when candled on day 11.

So who is starting the Marans hatch along for April?

It's light out!!!!!!! Just ran outside, definitely sumpin' goin' on out there.....slipped an egg out from under her and held it to my ear and tapped on it....chirping and tapping right back at me!

BTW: I think my 8 mos Copper Splash girl is trying to be broody....hmmm, just in time for an April Hatch Along!

After two days of hatching, I now have 25 babies!!!

Basket of 14 Cuckoo Marans

3 French Black Copper Marans:

2 cuckoo mixes:

2 Spanlged Sussex:

3 yellow babies (2 mix, 1 BO)

and one gray silkie, possibly mixed:

I started with 36, 33 went into lockdown, 25 hatched!

OMG-that basket of Cuckoos is so cute.

Here are my final stats.

I saved eggs for 3 weeks. Ditched 17 and set 19 of the darkest ones.
Humidity was 45% for incubation and 58% for lock down
Hatched 14 out of 19

Some of the darkest eggs hatched last and I bumped the humidity up a point to help these two out

I got 80% Black Copper Phenotype and 20% Wheaten, which was not unexpected (not sure what I will do with the wheaties, but they sure are beautiful chicks)

5 eggs are left in there, 2 of them are very dark

) I will probably leave them in there until tomorrow, but I think this is it. One of them was rolling around last night but no movement this morning.
