Adorable!! My Wheaties are 1.5 weeks old now and they're still not sexable - Wait until their wing feathers grow out to a point that they do not have the white tips show so much. I think it takes about 3 weeks. Then, you should see black primaries for the cockerels and brown for the pullets.

Drom~

This one's for you!

Sorry, I could only get a pic of the 2 babies, the other little scaredy chick wouldn't come out.

Here are my 6 Wheaton Marans and 3 CM's.
By the looks of it I might have 3 Wheaton roos and 3 Wheaton pullets. I'll know for sure by the 2wk when they have feathered out better. It is nice with the Wheatons. The males are darker then the females. It also looks like I have 1 for sure CM roo maybe 2 and 1 pullet. They are going to the BYC/TRS in April. I might take any extra Wheaton roos.
I just have to post my older roo from Berkeleysprings too

So, I had joined this hatch-along, and set shipped eggs on March 7 and March 9. I kept doing the math and expected to have babies on the weekend, but none came. Last night, on the 30th, I was about ready to remove the first set of eggs and make room in my hatcher for more eggs. But what do I see? 2 pips.

One of my BCM set on the 9th hatched last evening, followed by another overnight. I still have only one pip in the eggs from the 7th. The chick was still working on it this morning. Two more are pipped in the March 9 batch. Whew!

So, do Marans take a couple extra days??? It is my first hatch of them.
