Calling all Marans lovers! Join me in my very first hatch-a-long—I set 9 BBS Marans eggs from my flock featuring my boy Moon, a lovable Blue Copper Marans roo, and his two favorite Blue Copper gals, Lucy & Lacy.
Eggs 1-4 from Lucy are deep russet color with ave wt 66g.
Eggs 5-9 from Lacy are deep tan with a heavy bloom, ave wt 62 g. #7 is a speckled egg as Lacy ran out of ink!
In the spirit of March Madness choose an egg 1-9 to root for, and a name that represent your favorite BBS (that’s basketball, baseball, or soccer
) team/ player. Not a sports fan? NP- wildcards are welcome, too.
If my understanding of BBS genetics is correct there is a chance at having a Splash Marans or two with all others being Blue.
