Marans not hatching!!!

Buy live chicks. I have just gotten 13 from Ruth on BYC. All arrived within 16hrs from her and all were in excellent shape. Its the best way to go.

I too have a hard time hatching these birds and my eggs are fresh from the source. However, those that have bought my eggs seem to be getting approx. 9 out of 12 to hatch and that's after shipping. I've tried high and low humidity and can't get either to work. Of course, in my case, my Sportsman is so full of so many types of eggs all hatching at different times that it is constantly being opened and closed so that probably has a lot to do with it but the Marans are the only ones that seem to have difficulty hatching in the same environment.
