Marans Not Laying?

I hatched about 30 chicks from my own flock's eggs last May. Have some RIRs and my own hybrid Whiting True Blue/RIR strain along with a few pure French White Marans eggs.

All the pullets have been laying steadily for a few months now with the exception of the Marans. I have three Maran pullets that are now eight months old and have not yet laid a single egg.

Has anyone else experienced such long delays with French White Marans?

Probably it's about winter, with short daylight hours, hitting them when they might have begun to lay eggs. If you don't have supplemental light out there in early morning, many birds, including many pullets, will wait for the longer days of spring.
