Is 3 weeks a good margin for fertility and to make sure that it's the right rooster? Just wondering cause My Frizzle project has been that long, and I just put eggs in the bator hoping it was long enough!! Yippee!

I've always been told 3-4 weeks is long enough.

I'm not keeping a list but will post them in the BST section when I've got extras.

I hatched some right after they started laying and they had good fertility.....they just weren't pure at that point in time. Took me awhile to get their pen ready.

I think they're the prettiest of the Marans.

ithink my chicken is a maran now lol but she isnt as big as some of the hens ive seen shes like smaller just not big breasted she is almost 10 months and hasnt layed an egg yet ugh

oops well at first we thought it was a dom. but then i did a study on them and they have a double comb. then we though of corse it is a barred rock nope legs arnt yellow and isnt as light as they are. then we looked at marans and we said wow she looks almost identical to them but isnt as big. so we have decided to wait for her first egg to tell by the color.. since marans have beautiful chocolate eggs lol but my camera isnt working an is in the shop to be fixed and i will post a picture of her

Are you saying you think it is a cuckoo Marans?

How old is it?

Is it a girl or boy?

Where did you get it?

Answer these questions, and I will post a picture of what it would look like if it were a Marans.

it has barring but it isnt like brackets its all over like broken bars like a marans

yes im saying i think it is a cuckoo marans

almost 10 months old
