Jennifer, I have pretty much the same issues with the birds I've kept (not surprising, since they're from the same place). I don't know who's laying what, yet, either. My kind of "for now" solution has been to remove everything that is questionable from the Marans pen altogether...but not to destroy them. They're in the laying flock. I'm going to try to build up numbers a little with the best that I have right now, and then re-evaluate when that first generation crop comes of age. Hopefully, by then I'll even have some breeder pens!
