I saw on another post those handsome birds came from Marans Chicken Club USA breeder Jeanie Chadwick of Funny Farm, who a couple of us have gotten from. She ships, too.

You're absolutely right! And I have a matching pair ... of roos!!! LOL

These guys are 16 weeks and just huge, twice the size of my laying ee's. My twins call them "Honk" because of their voices. I have yet to hear them crow though. I am praying one is a pullet.

I doubt it though.

I am thinking of getting some more from her. These birds just blow away anything else I have here. Very mellow too! Hence why I am trying to give away half my flock even though some are great bloodlines. Just want to concentrate on the marans!

I am hatching BCM's and BSM from Gabbard today! A little discouraged though - I went to go and check and one of the splash's is pipping upside down. Strange, esp since I used a turner and stopped it Monday.

I hope they make it!

But, I don't seem to have very good luck with Marans so I am keeping the humidity lower this go around. Seems to have worked, maybe! Have a few pips right now!!!! Keep your fingers crossed for me ....
