probly nothing.... i've had 0 out of 34 from shipped eggs.... all becasue of the PO scrambling them too much...
good luck with the ones that are developing

Shiping coast to coast sometimes works very well and sometimes not. We have shipped eggs from the same birds, same day to the west coast one person got a good hatch the other not. It's hard to say what happens to them in transit.

YOU are not doing anything wrong. Shipped eggs are always a crap-shoot... just do not give up.

They are SO worth trying again.

Question here... In the last batch of BCM's I hatched, I have one runt. Really really small. Is this a genetic issue with Marans? I think I read that awhile back.
Do they ever catch up? So far it is thriving and acting like the rest of them. What do you do when you have chicks like that?

Looking back at older posts -- verycherry and rustyswoman, may I have permission to save your photos for use in educational materials? I'd appreciate it!

Also -- if anyone else has good pics of faults, including foot problems or rumplessness or whatever, I'd appreciate receiving copies. Thanks in advance!

Yes, you can definately use my photo.

I have Wheaten babies!

I had 3 hatch yesterday, but so far no other signs of life.

Of course I'm giving them more time, but these 3 came out clean as a whistle, strong and alert, and one right after the other, so I don't think there was any problem at all with the incubation. The rest may be duds from shipping issues. I'll give them until tomorrow night at least. I'd candle them, but they're so dark and my batteries are about gone.

These are from Davis and Teasdale lines. Does anyone have any information on Teasdale lines? I've heard they were originally imported, and that's all I've heard.

Keep keeping your fingers crossed everybody!!! You can uncross them to type and go to the restroom but that's it, ok????
