Hi folks,

I just wanted to let you know I bought some copper blues and my red star eggs are darker than the Marans. They look like a 2.

I did this out of curiousity. I knew it was a gamble. Do not buy copper blues on ebay. You all probably know that, but I just wanted to let you all know. I will hatch them out and sell the chicks as brown egg layers.

I would be suspect of anything this breeder sends out, given the deplorable, size and color of these eggs. They are not Marans.

Some of the pictures of eggs on E-Bay are definatly doctored up to be amde to look darker. I have never bought e-Bay eggs, but I would worry about the quality for sure.

Oh, and to sex them, lighter is rooster, darker is hen.....I'll look a little closer, but you may have one of each.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure now........Left one looks like a boy, one on the right is darker and looks like a girl...they are from the same parents, so with their colors being that different, they are espcecially easier to sex....
