I have heard something similar.....That the white wing feathers as young birds are proof of quality. (don't know how true it is but I heard that also)
 
All my BCMs are hatched out with white wing tips... I've had people email me back to ask if that was normal... since I've never seen one without I just assumed it was.

I have never heard that either, although it's very common for black copper chicks to have white wing tip feathers. They fall out and come back in as black with their adult plumage.
 
I've seen on a variety of my purebred birds, tips of their flite feathers will have a half an inch to an inch of white. Usually ONLY on my immature birds Unless somehow they get stressed, I have heard that causing it too.

I have some younger birds with white tips and some older birds that had them as younger birds but it molted out.



Here is one of my new babies........I've never had one hatch out like this. It is kinda yellow/white like a Splash but with a very heavy blue haze almost making it appear light gray/sliver. What ever it is...this little fuzzy will be staying.

When i got my BCMs the owners showed me a picture of them when they where chickies and 2 of them (my roo and my better quality hen) had white wing tips! but guess which ones didnt.. the birds with a lot of gold on their neck.
 
Please look at this rooster (it's not mine! or any of our offspring) saw ad on clist and felt compelled to go to the web site.

What's up with that comb?

Is it part leghorn....Never saw such a comb!
