The drama I was referring to is the part about the illegal activities leading to the Marans. Heck, I am just happy to have the Marans! I don't know how or who or what .... I have some, and I am like you ..... learning!

Ok thanks for the info on cuckoos and bc. Now... with the blue/splash? black copper marans are those ok to be together or should they be seperated as well? The lines are from Bev. and Wade and I forget the other name I was told I do have it written down at the house on who was Hatched when and who they are out of(lines) and who I got them from. I keep seeing the word...mossie...What is that look like? I also heard of a Wheaten?
OMG.. My head is going to eggsplode from to much of this new info..have to go get refill of coffee to be able to process it all.

Keep it coming thou. Thanks

Here are two Wheatens out of Wade Jean lines (French Black Coppers)......Luckily I have another roo waiting in the wings.....He'll be replaced along with the one hen that produced these guys. But these two will quite possibly be staying here, if nothing else would be
interesting to see what they end up looking like.

There are lots of people on this thread who breed the blues, black, splash, blue copper so when you post the pics I am sure people will provide their advice and opinions on what you might want to do

It depends on the lines and egg color... If your blues and splashes produce as good as BC then cross them providing they are compatible... If you will lose color and that bothers you... then don't .. It has been my experience that the blue/black/splash have a lighter egg color than the BC... If your goal is to put copper on your blues then there you go!!!.... I don't cross mine but that is my choice. Look at what your goal is and breed accordingly... Pinkchick has some rock stars as far as dark egg layers in blue... I have had a couple but nothing lays like my Cree and Bayhorse bonne birds... Wade line. They tend to have a matte finish, however the beauty in the presley line!!! wow.. what my hens lack in darkness they make up for in shape and color.. the EXTRA SOMETHING... ruby red glow is hard to photograph... kinda like candy apple.... Just gotta love those.. Drom and I were discussing them on a previous post.... Can't compare that either... What are YOU after????
