Marans Thread for Posting Pics of Your Eggs, Chicks and Chickens

I looked really hard at those two pictures and I don't see one, but maybe I'm missing it. It is probably buried somewhere, or I was saving her eggs for hatching. I'm fairly certain I don't have any individual pictures of her eggs...

I have this girl, bought recently, just started laying a couple weeks ago. She was in with a mixed bag of birds, mostly marans, but also australorpe, brown leghorn and an EE roo. I am trying to hatch everything she lays, crossing my fingers for a barred bearded olive egger flock. Someone gave me a cuckoo marans of unknown quality/lineage, but I will hang onto him for now, since he's all I got barred to breed her to. I could always go with my copper blacks of known dark egg laying genes, but I will see if I can do barred first.

I am wondering, I have a cuckoo marans rooster and some ameraucana and easter egger girls that are all ready to lay.
I also have some black copper marans roosters, will one be better than the other to get a good olive egger?
The black coppers won't be old enough for a while but the cuckoo marans is.
So out of curiousity anyone know which is a better mix?

Supposedly an auracana as well but I am suspicious that its an EE

So I have a friend going to Paris next month. She's going to try to buy some fertile copper maran eggs, put them in a regular egg carton and try to bring them back. Do you think she can go through customs with "eating eggs"??
