My first RCOM hatch is starting early. These guys are at day 20. I've got two hatched so far and I hear more peeps.

I am a little shy about critiquing here so I pm'ed you with what I "see" as a strategy for what you have posted. You have some merit in your pen as well as faults.... My pen has different faults that I am working on... I think you have some really good things as well as some really obvious culls. Refer to the PM for a tried strategy that may work. I use dog chain kennel (6 x 6 x 6) for my separation pens... It works really well for separating for this kind of breeding strategy... I also use a panel for the top (keeps out coyotes) Thanks for sharing those pix with us.... It is a great tool for everyone and it showcases the expected outcome from a hatch from a particular breeder. I think it would be nice to showcase hatched birds from shipped eggs by favorite breeders... That would be a fun thread... as long as everyone kept it positive. I would showcase Bayhorsebonne and Cree Farms as my Faves... I have got consistently good stock from them. I have heard good things about others as well.

Oh and don't count on it being a hen... Kathinmo and I have decided that online sexing isn't all that accurate

My goodness did hatch day arrive quickly... I have them popping out like popcorn...So far 11 to go in the hatching... I think 4 are a wash but everything else is pipping and zipping... I think I put in too many!!!! ha ha ha (is there such thing!????)

Seriously, I can tell what these two are now. I have one pullet and one cockerel. It's the feet. I can tell by their little feet.

I am so tired. I was up half the night making sure the heat in the brooder was right.

So..... ??? Is it a hen???? I look at the feet also.... She looks very cute.. (can't see feet)....just being optimistic.... I have learned to sleep through..... I have one more night before I pull the babies out (I let them go 2 1/2 days) and then I pull em... I will try to post pix then (not my strong suit)...

Get some sleep.....It is raining here...good day for sleeping in...
