He's 10 weeks old. Ya, he's got a little bit of a bald patch on his saddle that's growing out nice copper. I'm very excited to see how he turns out.

Ms. AKA birdbrain: Wow... those are spectacular specimens... These are your Bayhorsebonne birds?.... Nice pair!!! Looks like a winning combo... Is this the only two that hatched or are there others? I like the way the roo looks... He doesn't have any copper on his neck and it is hopeful that he won't copper out more than 25 percent I think is what the SOP calls for... I think it is a good prospect.

10 Weeks? . . . Oh. I thought he was younger than mine. My boy already has copper wings, saddle, and hackles now.

I guess everyone matures at different rates. . .

But my second cockerel STILL has black saddle feathers. Geebs, I didn't get good photos, but trust me. . . They're black. I saw them up close.

But they're Wade x Davis anyway, so it doesn't matter too much to me. It's my two Davis boys that matter. . . One is already getting copper hackles, and the other is still solid black.

Davis roos take longer to copper out, and that is good. The quicker roos get a lot of copper, usually indicates they will have too much on the breast as an adult or the copper will be light colored.

Is #3 still a pullet? and how are number one and number 2 of your earlier post maturing??? Still holding on to the same guesses??? Nice nice nice!!!! I could just squeeze em!!!! That is a good looking pullet. BTW... I like the photography... It takes quite a bit to get your chickens to hold still and pose!!! Do you have some photography in your background? Sure looks like it... nice backdrop

I have been listening to eggs for 30 + years , taken many seminars on the subject and one thing is certain it takes many years and .its expensive sexing hatching eggs , i can tell the sex by holding the egg to my ear and shaking it like crazy and then if i listen very closely i can tell by the sound coming from the girls complaining about the bumpy ride , now please people if u need your eggs sexed just drop them in the mail and send them to me
