Marans Thread for Posting Pics of Your Eggs, Chicks and Chickens

I have not yet learned how to post photos on here. However, my avatar is a photo of eggs from my Black Coppers! The Marans French Standard calls for heavy to sparse feathered shanks. They are however not suppose to be as heavy as a cochin. The Marans have langshan and Brahma in their background, so their legs should not be any heavier feathered than these two breeds.

Thanks some of the gals on our crochet thread think the same. It is kinda of eggciting to find such pretty colors in the nesting boxes. I will be even more eggcited when I start getting some chocolate brown ones too. Here is a photo of two of my pullets witn Schultzie 1 of My Cuckoo Marans Roos. The pullet on the left has yellow legs.

Solsken Farms thanks for the well wishes for Ms Cluck, I had her out yesterday evening I don't think she is ready to walk yet. But she does try using her leg to balance herself when she streches some and of course when she turned herself around I left the room so I didn't get to see how she used or didn't use her injuried leg.

Welcome to the BYC chicken folk chatting about Marans Breeding/Standards/Eggs/etc, trying to figure out whats-what n who's-who ? We're trying so hard, this is the best Marans thread going so far! We all just love 'em, But we all just dont have 'em yet. Or some, like me, have 'em, but know they're not the greatest yet, and are on list's for the good ones! (Thank you Drom and everyone!)

I think I'll hit you up for some of those Wheaten eggs! When will they be available next? I should resist...I put the incubator on the shelf...my brooder babies are 7 weeks old now, ready to leave the light....I should resist......then again, the brooder could be empty and lonely....I should resist.....

Isnt someone gonna stop me?????

Hello
frow.gif

So, what you need to do is go to Uploads. This will bring up a window giving you the option to browse your files and upload pictures. You can upload up to 2MB of pics from your files.

If you would like to insert any of your pics into forum text you are posting, from the forum text page open a new window by clicking on Uploads at the top of the forum page. On the Uploads page in the lower right hand corner click on My Uploads. Make sure when this page comes up it is in Gallery mode so that each of your pictures will appear with a thumbnail link and an image link. Go to the pic you want and right click to highlight the image link and click on copy. Then go back to your forum text page, place your cursor in the text where you would like to insert the image. Right click and paste the link in your text. When you submit your post, the image should appear in your text.

Well, chickens that lay blue eggs have pea combs, so do any of your chickens have a pea comb?
