But it had crossed my mind only because I've bred and shown other animals and I've seen that kind of thing a lot. Doesn't seem to matter what the species is.

And it can really spoil the joy and excitement people get out of showing and breeding the animals.

Bev isn't the problem, the fellow spreading the rumors about her is.

Im doing okay in the fledgling breeding arena, I have attended shows for years, but couldnt tell you whats "really" going on

m I ljust ove the beautiful birds!! Oooh La La!

I'm not a politician, I have barely survived the minor office scuffles I've been in over the past 17 years being employed with the County. I prefer the pecking order that chickens establish, and I settle somewhere in the middle.

I would like to have pretty healthy birds that I can share with pride, and I dont want/need to make a fortune on them. I hope to still be able to scratch out a decent name as a breeder of Marans in the future, at least amongst my closest colleagues, uhhh, say you guys!!

My Wish List is fluid, but it includes Blue right now. I even started a Blue Online Poultry Show, so I can see some of the Blue options in Poultry. Maybe someone will have some Blue Marans to post in my contest??

Hi, this is a picture of a Marans rooster that I hatched this summer. Anyone know what you would call this color? He is from Cuckoo colored parents.

Oh, he looks like a splash. There's probably some formula there with the Cuckoos. In fact I think someone just posted something on that recently. I'll try and find it.

Sorry not a very good picture. Its night time now. I can get close ups tomorrow. I was thinking splash too, but I've looked at splash pictures and he doesn't really look like them. Also from the same hatch I got some black hens with a little copper color around the neck area. Some black hens with a little cuckoo barring on their chest area and some just plain cuckoo colored.

Would anyone here happen to know if this little girl might be a Black Copper Maran? I got her in a box at the auction with some other chicks, but have no idea what she is.
