Good thoughts their way - hatch ye little suckers!!!

OK...that's a Cuckoo, but the tail is too high for standards. The tail needs to be at a 45 degree angle, not straight up and down. The space between the head and tail (over the back) will shape a perfect "U".

Be sure to post a pic as soon as you get your camera back. Sounds like a roo

I finally get to post my chicks. They hatched yesterday.

I have blue, Wheatons, Blue Wheatons and Black Coppers. 16 out of 30 eggs.

Some that did not hatch so you can see how dark the eggs were.

Heck -- if these chicks turn out well, I may give you my Cottage Hill pullets. Ya never know! The Presley ones are all clean-legged, and I really don't like their personalities. But they are BIG girls, and of course I haven't seen their eggs yet. I may like em a lot more once I see what they lay!

O.K. guys while were on the subject. Can you keep Black Copper marans, and Blue Copper Marans together? If you want to keep the blue feathering would it be advisable to keep a Blue Copper Roo in with them. Or do Black Coppers also carry the blue gene? Just wondering.

I can't wait until I have a basket full of eggs.
Right now I only have two.

But they're getting darker! The one on the left is the first egg my pullet laid and the one on the right is her second. It's darker and has a thicker coating and is rounder too. I'm very excited
