Those are so cute! I think the goldens are the cutest of the cute chicks! Makes me wants some even more, they seem so unique! I can tell out of my recent hatches I have little roosters running around...I wonder if you can tell with Goldens at a young age by attitude as well as color?? I know with alot of others you can!!
Lovely pics Birch Run!!

I don't know if everyone saw this or not, but it sounds like this egg show is this weekend. Not sure where Susquehanna is

Maybe not too late to ship eggs out tomorrow if you request 2 day or something- but not sure when the official cut-off is/was to get the eggs in.
But the forms will be in the egg show info under files at the MCC if anyone is interested and Corrine Dean has the information.

Thanks Tina, they are quite pretty little babies. I think the males do have a different down color. I have asked Melissa but have not heard back from her yet.

on the goldens the cockerals are usually a lot lighter and the pullets look more *chocolatey* , at least to me

eta- birchrun, I would agree, looks like 2/2

So far they are sweet little chicks. They are first to respond when I get home from work and have made some of the older chicks that hatched the week prior a bit jealous. I think the two I have pegged as boys are the friendliest. Momma's boys for sure!

My blue wheaton ameraucana that also came from Melissa and hatched at the same time is starting to show some wing feathers.

I released two silver cuckoo pullets tonight from the infamous 'broody buster' cage. They were glad to get out, I think they have a new attitude for a few weeks now. LOL!
