Anyone know how to vent sex? I would hate to injure a chick trying but it would really be a handy thing to do.
I get the bump/no bump thing any one have clear pics of bump vs no bump to compare?

I have had 3 more Marans hatch and one died after pipping and partial zipping...not sure what happened there. These are all lighter in color than the first chick I posted, a blue/grey instead of black. For the record they ALL have the same length on the feathers so I do not think feather sexing works on Marans OR I have all roos. I have about 6 Marans to go so I will keep checking! and maybe I will get brave a vent sex.

One of the living has this bizarre bubble on its hind quarter and it was pipping out the wrong end of the egg and going long ways around the egg so I knew something was off. We helped it out and ewwww...
