YAY! The Marans did hatch! I have 15 new chickies, that include JG, BCM, Silver Penciled Plymouth Rocks, and a couple Olive Eggers. Very happy about the hatch, got quite a variety. Thanks 3chickens & Rustyswoman.

Very exciting. Who do your BCMs come from? I just checked out your page. I really like your coop. The feed storage is a really nice feature-I need to do something like that.

I also took a look at your page and am envious! Very very nice. I might copy some of your ideas.

I also have a roo who will do like Rupert and walk between two other roosters thinking about going at it....but serious fights are very rare around here thank goodness. Funny thing is, he's a cocky little White Silkie roo!!! What a great addition to my flock he's been. He's actually #2 roo here, and I probably have around 15 roosters/cockerels running around at any given time. It's pretty entertaining to watch him supervise the flock, lol!

We do love our ol' Rupert. I have read alot of others' comments that Cuckoo Marans are generally pretty sweet. I hope the other Marans that I just hatched are as loveable as he is!
