Marans of America Club is having a Black Copper Marans Special Meet at the Big Bird Classic in Pine Bluff Arkansas in April 2010. Would like to get as many BCM committed as possible.

Marans Chicken Club USA is the one that's working to gain APA acceptance of the breed, but it's great for other folks to encourage more showing, as well. The more exposure we get, the better!

My grandparents lived in Pine Bluff for many years. They are gone now, but I might have to drive over to that show even if just for the sake of nostalgia!

will the parrent still pass to the egg (chick) the same trates (egg color ,feather color,size and shape ) ?
no matter if its the 1st egg she ever layed
or the 50th egg ?
is there any thoughts on the subject ?

I got some pictures of my marans but they arent the best so i will keep trying to get better ones.. Is it better for BCM hens to have more goldish coloring or less? I have 2 hens that have a lot of goldish coloring on their neck and then 1 that has very little. for breeding purposes which one would be the best? I love the rooster

He is HUGE! i didnt think he was that big until i picked him up. I am very happy with my marans.
 
Ok guys.... here is the update....12 hatched so far and more pipping and zipping.
