My husband signed up first, and used AK-Bird-Brain as his name... I kept using his account, and starting a post with "Mrs. AK-Bird-Brain here..." and it stuck. I've been so tired lately, I'm not surprised that I forgot it, but OMG... why did it have to be her eggs?

I hope there's a chance they'll pull through...

I bought them from a lady in Del Mar, Ca. Im not sure where she bought her eggs but I could ask. Is Heritage a line? Thats what he add said. Im sorry, I know nothing about chickens. I would like to post pictures of them tonight so you guys can tell me what you think.

Mrs. AK~~I wouldn't worry too much about it, I'm sure it's not the first time that's happened to someone. I don't think eggs at 7 days would die from being too cold for too long, you might lose some, but I believe it just basically makes them go dormant. Don't give up on them yet

PUt them back in the incubator, & pray. It won't hurt to try, if they do hatch, will probably be a day late.

Mrs. AK-Bird-Brain :

OMG, I am so sick to my stomach right now... I won some Marans eggs from Bargain, and was candling them late last night. They were a week along, and showing signs of growth. In the middle of candling, my husband called me out to look at something on the computer, and we got distracted, and I forgot to put the eggs back in the incubator.

They sat out for about 9 hours in a 65Β°F room overnight... is there ANY chance they will survive???

I had a Millie abandon her nest and let her eggs get down to 45Β°F for a couple of hours before I found them. They were at day 18, and still hatched. I figured I have nothing to lose by leaving them in the incubator. They'll die for sure if I DON'T put them back in.

I give up. I got an order in today of Black Coppers from an extremely highly rated seller on ebay, and the eggs are so disappointing. One is very good, the rest are average at best, and one isnt as dark as my barred rock lays. Why is it every seller says the eggs get lighter at the end of the laying cycle, and I seem to be getting all of those eggs?

Did you contact the seller. I would and if they did not replace the eggs with good quality eggs, I would then contact Ebay and also leave a blistering review for all the world to see. Hope things work out for you. These BC eggs are too expensive to except anything less than top quality.
