I just Purchased a Blue Wheaten from Bev Davis lines and 3 girls from cottage hill X Davis.

The rosoter is just massive, and the girls are only 12 weeks only.

1 Blue Wheaten Male
1 Blue Wheaten Female
2 Blue Wheaten Females.

hi, if both of your roos have feathered shanks you can use either one to help correct this...not all babies will have feathered legs, you keep the most correctly colored and feathered legged birds and breed back to feathered legged roo......to be continued in next post

littledel~ continued, as for color ratio...if you are looking for more blues and splash birds...use the blue copper roo over blue and splash hens, if you want all blues use the black roo over the splash hens.

remember these babies may or may not show copper if your blue and splash hens do not or if the parentage of blue and splash hens is unknown, some birds can actually be carrying the copper gene and not show it.

edited many times due to trying to type and ride at the same time. will correct later from home.

Thanks, Kelly! And - I might add, this was a home-made incubator and HAND TURNED.

SunChick - we're all set for your shipment! Should be a really good hatch for you - I'm excited to see how you do!

SFIcelandics - I would LOVE to see some pics of your Cottage Hill/Davis girls!

I have a BCM pullet in my flock that has laid nothing but double yolk eggs since she started laying. I wasn't worried at all after the first few, since she is a new layer, but now I'm starting to wonder.

She lays an egg every 2-3 days. So far I have gotten 12 double yolk eggs! She has yet to lay a normal egg!

My husband loves them but is this going to wreak havoc on my poor little pullet?

I was thinking of using the blue copper roo, because my goal is to have feather legged splashes. Both my black copper and blue copper roos have good coppering starting to come out. My splashes are too young to tell yet.

My pullets are 20 weeks old and they have a tunnel nest box which is pretty cool that way 2 or 3 hens can all get in there at a time. When I set it up for them they scratched up the shavings like crazy and threw out the egg I put in there the main thing was going in there now they are setting in there for hours at a time and my Rooster has been looking in the ventilation holes and going to the entrances to check on his girls....he was the first one in there had to check for monsters you know. Now he is singing the egg song and going in there making a nest going out and just singing away I thought somebody laid an egg. I find this very interesting as of yet I have not seen him tread a hen he does grab them by the neck but no treading....soon I hope for eggs

How old is she? Mine are 23 weeks and I caught one checking out a nesting box today. I think she just wants me to get my hopes up and tease me for about 5 more weeks.
