I hear ya, I'm gonna get more marans of different varieties for certain, cause I like to have different kinds of birds, and the added bonus with these is you get the great eggs!

Cant wait til you post pics!

We are interrupting this thread for a public emergency announcement

Aliens have landed on the planet Earth.

Until the intentions of these tiny creatures have been determined, authorities are asking all citizens to lock your coops and stay indoors.

We are now returning you to the regular Marans thread.

I have some in the incubator right now that are half Black Copper Marans and half Ameracana! I can't wait to see what color eggs they have. I hope dark olive, but who knows!

drom, here are a couple pics of my babies, taken yesterday. Like I said, they're about the same age as yours, but not as fully feathered. (Excuse the fencing debris--we were building in the yard there.)

Ok here are some eggs from the middle of the summer from one day the girls are molting now so only a few eggs a day. THese are from my two cuckoo marans from Meyer Hatchery I was suprised how dark the eggs are and this is not from the begining if the laying cycle this is in the middle after at least 3 months !

Here is the flock free ranging you can pick out the two cuckoo's in the middle

Your birds are beauties-who did you get them from?

So, yes they seem younger-but now when did they hatch?

I took my other two Roos, the medium one and the smallest, youngest looking one (he doesn't have a tail yet

so he looks weird ) out in the pasture this morning and took a couple pics. Mine would be 7 weeks today. My pullets actually look closer in age to yours, but the Roos look older. I will post them in a bit. I ran out of storage on the site so I have to delete some pictures.
