Nice eggs! Are those some pink eggs you have in there? I keep seeing pictures of pink eggs on this site. Who lays those?

That is what I need to do; hot wire my fencing. It is the vinyl ranch fencing though and I am not keen on drilling holes in it. But that is really the very best way to keep out predators, keep the horses safe, etc...

We have not had one predator loss since getting that fence in order. We missed a spot with the turkey pen, forgetting to pass the wire around ONE 4x4 post, about 5' high, and a raccoon got in and injured two turkey poults that first night. Fixed that oversight.

Your birds are beauties-who did you get them from?

So, yes they seem younger-but now when did they hatch?

I took my other two Roos, the medium one and the smallest, youngest looking one (he doesn't have a tail yet

so he looks weird ) out in the pasture this morning and took a couple pics. Mine would be 7 weeks today. My pullets actually look closer in age to yours, but the Roos look older. I will post them in a bit. I ran out of storage on the site so I have to delete some pictures.

You're right--mine were hatched July 20, which makes them 6 weeks old.

My husband got them for me from Mr. Bryant in AL. Which is way better than when he replaced my first Buff Orpington pullets....with 20 COCKERELS.

Cuckoos I'am told have been crossed with Barred Rocks. For production purposes. By hatcheries I'am told. For both Large egg,and meat. Yes their legs are suppose to be white or slate colored.

If you look at Barred Rocks legs, their yellow.

Sure wish someone would share some Black,Blue,or Wheaten hatching eggs.

L&Schickens :

I have some in the incubator right now that are half Black Copper Marans and half Ameracana! I can't wait to see what color eggs they have. I hope dark olive, but who knows!

The olive eggs are pretty. It seems like there are a lot of people interested in olive eggers.
