If you can't find Black Coppers now days you aren't looking. Check out Eggbid.com, about every other egg and or chick is Black Copper. Some are from quite reputable breeders. Many are birds or chicks that were purchased a year ago from reputable breeders.
I think the breed in general has a long long way to go to be real solid. I think I am going to sell all of mine and go down a different path. I am not sure I have enough knowledge and more importantly patience to work with the breed to the extent that they still need work.

The breed needs folks like you, I for sure am not being disrespectful of you or the breed. The egg and breed thing is very challenging and if you throw in the fact that (mine at least) are quite poor layers, or at least streaky layers, on again off again, I just got a headache. LOL
I think I will keep my Wheaten's and enjoy the eggs, I do like the color and leave the breeding to those that have more devotion to it.
