What shall I expect from a cross between black copper marans roosters and hy-line brown hens?

I need darker and harder eggs than hy-line browns and more eggs than marans hens.

White why? Because of the dominant white genes and the silver genes contained in the maternal white rocks that are used to create the hy-line browns?

Hyline browns have dominant white. But not silver.

I should have spoken more carefully. Hyline brown hens do not have silver. They would only pass it to their sons, not their daughters. It is a sexlinked cross so they can be sexed at hatch.

But, hy-line selects stock since 1936 to achieve the optimum results.
