IMG_0506.JPG IMG_0730.JPG I recently got black copper marans from a friend that was downsizing her flock, however, she also had wellsummer/maran mixed and full black copper marans. I'm unsure of which I got and was wondering if as they get older if there was any way to determine which breed I have? Also, one chick is like 3xsbigger than the other two and was curious if this could potentially mean a rooster?

What is a pride black copper Marans? I never heard of them before. I think you have a lot of mixed Birds here. they don't look like pure black copper Marans. I think you have the welsummer / Maran mix Birds.
Both breeds lay dark eggs so you should have some nice dark brown egg layers.

I agree with 3riverschick that they are probably Welsummer/Maran crosses, that's actually a good idea why didn't I think of this before? I can't really tell genders from the pictures. If one is much bigger than the others it could be a sign that it is a cockerel, but it could also just be an older pullet. Did she tell you how old they are or if they are the same age?

There is only 3 chicks and they are siblings. She told me the age but now I forget, I got them July 6th, I really think they a pretty even if they are mixed especially the green colored feathers and the feathers on the feet. I really just like to know what I have even though I don't plan on hatching any babies.
