Well that’s a good bet…but maybe keep it in till lockdown? Just in case?
I check again in a few days. It most likely is a quitter.
Definitely will give it a chance! Any ideas on cause? I know it just happens sometimes and obviously it’s a bit on the porous side, but I’d love to learn more as I’m doing my first time. Thanks!

Yeah there can be lots of reasons they quit…just like in human babies. Most often there is something wrong in the development. A way for nature to weed out the genetically weak :-(

As the geneticist I talked to back in 2003 said there are a million things that have to go exactly right to result in life. I have a child with a genetic mutation, so I learned all about genetics in humans and critters that I could. Be it a human, poultry, sheep, goat, etc....

Our human girls have several mutations as well. Duplications, two kinds of teeth/hair defects. We seem to get stuck with special pets too lol. The dog even has a dairy allergy like them

22Q11.2 deletion, autism, cerebral palsy, ADHD, ADD, O.D.D., selective mutism, etc... And yeah both DH and I were screened genetically. According to the testing we should never have had any issues with our children.

Some good sized vessels in the Polish babies! And the d’Uccles seem to be good too. I’m gonna stop candling for a couple days…it’s hard not to constantly worry about them! The Polish are on Day 14 and the d’Uccles Day 12…it’s crazy to me that they have so much more growth yet to do and the eggs already seem so full! Nature is fascinating. Even when I understand that nature will do what nature will do, I always worry about the babies not making it! Hatching is addictive but sad at the same time. Love seeing the fluff when they’re out though! And can’t wait for chicks to hang with during the day while I work 😆😁
