DAY 12 for the second set. All looking good so far.

We have two babies and one on the way!! I got a brooder plate and I’m not sure if they’re warm enough? How do you know where to start the height?

I put about an inch and a half height at the back and a little bit higher at the front that way the chicks can decide how much heat they want. You’ll have to stuff them under there a few times until they get that’s where the heat is. I actually sleep out in the living room where the brooder is the first few nights as I have more than once found a chick outside the heat start chirping because it can’t find its way back in the dark. They get the hang of it pretty quick though.😊
Also if it’s too high they’ll complain and chirp if they’re cold.

Okay I was worried I was doing it wrong cuz they kept wandering back out and then cheeping and cheeping 😆 I feel better knowing that’s normal 😁
