March 2022 Hatch-A-Long

I set 16 Brahma eggs on Tuesday as well. I hoped to incubate some Bantam Cochins, too. But my hen it's not laying yet. I will incubate her eggs with some Brahma ones to fill the incubator when she starts (hopefully soon).
The eggs are due to hatch on March 1st.
Last year I had 100% fertility and 100% hatch rate with Brahmas, we will see this year:fl

I just had more Barnyard mix eggs and some BSO/Blue Partridge Brahma eggs arrive in the mail. I will be setting them in the next few days. Which will have them hatching about the 5th of March. So I will have the Ducks and Chickens for March.

100% is amazing. I am hoping for 50% on these shipped eggs. Trying to add new genes to my flocks

I just set 9. And sadly, NO it is not the 90 I would normally set at one time. Just a simple 9 eggs. the next two months will be major rebuild mode for me at the new farm. I will be setting near 200 for a second week in April window. I have put off hatching as I have to renovate the barns at the new place

Oh barn renos are always interesting. I am trying to rebuild my flock from the various dog attacks and then we found a fox on the property.

Following. Depending I might try to hatch some eggs. If my drakes start working I'll be hatching some of those. My rooster won't be working by then so l won't have a chance for chooks. I am getting a couple turkey hens tomorrow though so if they start laying I might hatch some just to see how they turn out. If not I might try to find some eggs to hatch. Good luck.
