I went as far as Trig in high school..... I hated the higher maths. I was into history and computers. Math was not my favorite subject.

Oh I totally sucked at math in school... biology and chemistry were my favorite subjects

Yeah, my kind of higher math.

Pretty sure all the silkie eggs are dead or a dud Feeling glad I popped some local eggs in so it’s not a total disappointment

The girls were super excited to see the little wiggly beans in the BYM eggs and we discussed how egg colour can affect candeling. They were surprised to find the light eggs (blue) were the hardest to candle

On the other hand, my 9 year old remembered the 4H class last week and declared the silkie eggs dead due to the ring before I even pointed it out

My husband made me a candler out of a birdhouse and a 75-watt lb. May change it to a 100 watt. Some of the dark eggs were a bit hard to see anything.

I set 6 Butterscotch Call Duck Eggs due March 14th.
I also set my 12 Black Ameraucana eggs and 5 Cochin Bantams (poss. Frizzle).
Also 15 Self Blue Ameraucana eggs that was shipped to me from just a state over.

I candled the eggs this morning. These are the ones that had growth.

3 of the 7 Muscovies
11 of the 13 Barnyard mixes
12 of the 14 Brahmas
4 of the 13 Bantam Cochins

I will be looking for more bantam cochin eggs to hatch. I am not happy with the low number of those eggs that developed. There 9 that were tossed were absolutely clear.
