THE EGGS ARE MOVING!!!! Got two very wiggly eggs, literally rolling themselves all over. I had issues sourcing the grippy bottom and am picking it up tomorrow. Is it too lat??? Will they be messed up if they roll too much?

Rolling around won’t hurt them. The grippy shelf liner is for the Chicks to help prevent spraddle leg.

If I'm checking the temperature of the eggs with a laser surface temp thermometer they should be 98-99*F right? Trying to figure out if the incubator is off or my second thermometer got off somehow.

Update: 12/14 chicks hatched 'till the day 22.
I candled the remaining 2 eggs. Unfortunately one was dead, the other one it's still moving. I'll leave it in the incubator until it decides to hatch or I see it doesn't move anymore.

Anyway. I set yesterday 16 more Brahma eggs, they are due on march 24th.

55 eggs went into lockdown. I didn't have to take any more out. That makes me happy.
Especially happy am I because I got one egg from my big boy...he was the one that didn't fertilize in the hatch before. He and 6 other chickens (5 hens, 2 roosters) were stolen from me last week. So I am really extatic over this egg.

Tomorrow is lockdown day!! Woohoo! Gonna turn off the turner, put down shelf liner, put in the small egg carton for the saddled eggs and then hope for the best! While I know the Polish are two days earlier, I feel like the d’Uccles will be okay this added couple of days in lockdown? Yeah?

Day 19 and heard some cheeping coming from an egg in the incubator. Not long now!

No, no idea. They left a role of garbage bags behind. The police has them now. Cut a whole into my fence and just opened the outside coops. I had only closed them with carabiner since I have the whole lot locked in the front gate. But of course they cut into the fence... there was nothing I could have done. No finger prints.. so they had gloves on.

No idea... but looking back some members of our breeding club noticed strange people in the area... and I noticed a black Mercedes right outside the night before.. driving very slowly past as if to scope out the place... even backing up again to peek thru the bushes where there is a gap. I did not get a license plate number as it was too far away. I could have been someone who wanted free chicken... another breeder who envies my birds... or people who take them into other countries where the breed is not available.

Not knowing is pretty hard....
