I also did not notice this ones scissor/misformed beak upon hatching. Itās got a pretty nasty whistle (due to a closed off nostril) but itās eating, drinking & whithin the appropriate weight range. Dunno whether to cull or see if anyone wants a pet duck

Also I added 14 more eggs on the 2nd. Not impressed with my ducks at the moment. Of those 14 only 5 are developing. They are all also moulting & I am only getting an egg here or there at the moment. Itās natural. None the less itās annoying at this time of year.
My family thinks Iām nuts! You need to debate that??![]()
The membrane looks completely dried out.View attachment 3019472
If I were keeping these I'd call this one "Slowpoke" because she's taking her own sweet time getting out of this egg.
She's still alive -- she peeps if I make a noise in that room.

If it's got that far I would be helping it out.The humidity in the incubator has stayed up over 70%. When I took the dry chicks out (they'd been there about 24 hours), I layed a damp paper towel over her.
Any recommendations, anyone?

70% humidity won't stop it drying out enough to shrink wrap it
How long has it been that far zipped?Would dampening it help or is something more active called for?
