March 2022 Hatch-A-Long

So far so good! She seems a bit less “just hatched” this morning and wasn’t crying as much Today I’ll try to get some egg yolk in her and see if that helps too. She also has a little assist boot on her one foot…so I may take that off today and see if the foot looks better. She was in her egg for a long time!

My 11 jumbo Coturnix eggs went into lockdown yesterday for a good hatch Tuesday

Woke to 2or 3 ducklings from round 2 of my hatch. 9ish to go. Very happy to see my white runner drake is throwing all white ducklings, given one mama duck is a silver appleyard cross pekin

Too late to join? First hatch, lockdown yesterday, today is day 19 and so exciting and so boring!

Yippee! I put 21 eggs in and they are on day 6 now. 10 out of 20 alive. I accidently cracked one.

Candled the 16 Ancona duck eggs on day 9. Only 4 developing. The other 12 didn’t even start (must not been fertilized).

My ducks went into moulting a week & half ago so I’m assuming my drakes feeling too.

Hopefully next month they start up again.
