March 2023 hatch-a-long

I’m starting to get really nervous about having two sets of chicks in the house 5 weeks apart. Like…what was I thinking?
Reality setting in I guess. I will figure it out but I will remind myself of this feeling in coming years haha
Lol. Mine will be a bit over 3 weeks.... Maybe 2 days over...... Hopefully I can combine them in the outdoor brooder with no issues. And depending on how my broody does may also have some that are 9 days before first hatch and 14 days older than 2nd incubator hatch.... Last year it was 3 hatches all a mo apart but I had a broody raised the June one, then 2nd was in the brooder and a broody raised the 3rd so worked out well. Lol

We had a problem with our jumbl incubator. It wouldn't hold temperature. One of the eggs exploded... I NEVER want to experience that again. So no hatching for us this month. We set eggs to hatch on April 2nd on the April hatch along. I hope our styrafoam incubator does better with the switch that turns on and off at the appropriate temperature.

I can hear an egg chirping !!!
Lol how long does it take for her to come out of there ?
Woo hoo!!!!!!? Chirping means an internal pip. It can take up to 24 hrs till it pips externally then 24 hrs till hatch after external pip. Now it doesn't normally take that long but it can.

What day are you on again?

I wish I could hatch some sweet duckies 🥺 I can only imagine 22 little quackers waddling around! I hope they all make it!
Thank you!!! After this 22 I have another 38+ going to hatch. I hope they make it too. My friend lost so many of her babies. I just hope I can help her! But until hers go to her I’m gonna enjoy them. I can’t wait to see mine hatch along side hers as well!
